Spring Prep: How to Get Your Garden Trampoline Ready for the Season

Hopefully, your trampoline has stood the test of the winter storms, and your kids can finally enjoy the coming spring days in the garden! (If not, our new trampoline range, Airborne PRO with round and rectangular trampolines, is launching shortly, so sign up for our newsletter for updates or check the trampoline section on our website here.) Now, you only need to ensure your garden trampoline is spring-ready. We are here to guide you through safety checking and preparing your round trampoline for the coming season.

Cleaning and Inspecting Your Trampoline After Winter

This step could be a fun family activity as kids love to help out with cleaning. Let them help by brushing off any leaves and dirt accumulated through the winter. We recommend using a soft brush or a blower for this step.

The next step will be extra fun for the kids: washing the mat and safety pad with sponges, using mild soap and water! Then, let it dry entirely before checking for any damage. Damage can have occurred on the springs, frame, mat, or safety net. If you find any damage, you must replace it before letting any children on the trampoline.

Most of the time, it will be something simple, and we most likely hold the spare part you may need, so just contact us. However, if your trampoline has been through a storm and is tumbling around the neighbour's gardens, you might be better off getting a new trampoline. If this is the case, make sure to purchase the ground anchors this time around!

You might want to lubricate the springs and joints to prevent future rusting and squeaking and just ensure that all parts are appropriately secured.

Essential Trampoline Accessories for Spring Fun

If you are looking to bring new life to a trampoline your kids may have started using less, a basketball hoop or fun LED lights could be a great idea! There are even some sprinkler systems or bubble machines that could be added for extra fun.

If your trampoline stayed through the storms but your ladder blew away, consider getting a new one to maintain safety for younger children getting on the trampoline.

Creative Trampoline Games to Keep Kids Active Outdoors

Since you should be supervising the children on the trampoline anyway, why not make it fun and beneficial for yourself, too? Get yourself and them involved in fun trampoline games. These could be dodge-ball, Simon Says, or dunk contests if you have a basketball hoop.

Another fun game is Trick Build. When one person does a trick, let’s say a tuck shape, the next person has to do the tuck shape plus another trick, and the following person has to build on the first two tricks. It's both a good memory game and brilliant for coordination!

Crack the Egg is a fun Easter game where one player sits on their bum, holding their knees tightly, while others bounce around trying to get the player to open up.

If you have younger children, have them stand in the middle while closing their eyes. You can bounce gently around them while they have to focus to keep their balance.

Following these steps will make your trampoline safe, durable, and ready for spring fun.
